2 days in Harrogate doing what we LOVE 🧡 Mummy La Vida and I went hunting for new, unique brands — every single piece selected with YOU in mind, because our customers deserve better than “seen it everywhere.”

Was SO great to catch up with so many of our lovely brands, old and new, and meet those of you who are new to us too 🧡

And guess what — we found a GEM. A brand-new find nobody else has, and I genuinely cannot wait to introduce you all to it 👀 Watch this space.

Because finding you that piece — the one that gets you stopped in the street with “OMG where did you get that, you look FABULOUS” — that’s the whole point of what we do.

Not rich rich. Just… doing whatever I want on a Wednesday, rich.

27 years running La Vida — “the life” in Spanish, and today I properly lived up to the name. TWENTY. SEVEN. And today proved exactly why it’s all been worth it. A sunny day does NOT have to mean a day in the shop for me. Nothing like Sussex by the sea — beach, my youngest, my massive beach-obsessed pooch covered in sand within minutes flat.

I built this business before my husband. Before my kids. And yet? They ALWAYS come first. Every single time. That’s the real currency, and nobody can convince me otherwise.

Being there for my kids and enjoying my beautiful family — that’s everything. You never know what’s around the corner, so I try to live for the moment and embrace days like this one. It really is all about work-life balance.

Right. Back to business — here’s what’s coming up:

The sale is STILL going, and we’ve just added even more lines. 🔥

But also — hot weather’s back (again, really??) so let’s ease into it with some proper transitional pieces. Think earthy tones, linens, and lightweight fabrics that carry you straight through into autumn. Layer up, layer down, no drama.

Quick PSA on Spring/Summer though: those buys won’t land till Feb ‘27 at the earliest. I KNOW. Next year. But I’ve been doing this 27 years and I’m basically a trend predictor at this point. Self-appointed. Rarely wrong.

It’s too bloody hot out there right now — and if you’re riding the menopause rollercoaster like me, I really feel it although I also love it too. I think because I was born in the heatwave of ‘76, summer is my time .

Good news: the shop’s a cool little escape from the heat if you fancy browsing in person. And if you’d rather shop from somewhere even cooler, our online sale is running 24/7. Find the outfit above (yes, it’s fab) online and in-store.

Sunny days are the perfect excuse to get out and refill the tank — so I did. Lunch at Rockwater Village Hove with foundhersocial , surrounded by a table of genuinely creative, inspiring female founders. 27 years running La Vida and I still have to remind myself that’s allowed.

Hove’s got history for me too — met my husband at the Escape Club, got married at the Royal Pavilion, had a family beach hut just along from Rockwater. That stretch of Sussex coast has given me a lot and continues to bring me joy.

Well… the secret’s finally out.

Yes, I’m closing La Vida… but only for a couple of weeks at the end of August and the beginning of September.

This year Scott and I celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and apparently “just one Live” and “I’ll only answer a few messages” don’t count as a holiday. I think if I don’t take a proper break then we might fall out, and to be honest… I quite like being married! 😂

We’re also helping our eldest start university and getting our youngest settled into college, so it feels like the right time to press pause, recharge and be with my family.

Before I do, though, I need your help…

I’m having a MASSIVE Summer Clearance to make way for all the gorgeous new season pieces arriving in September.
