How can I prevent the spread of Coronavirus at my Wedding?

Your ceremony and reception will need to be COVID-Secure, and the responsibilty for this usually lies largely with your venue. Here are some of the things that you can do to minimise the risk of any transmission and you will find it easier to relax and enjoy your big day.

Ensure that everyone at your wedding party washes their hands regularly. The venue is required to provide adequate hand wash facilities and you should encourage everyone to wash their hands especially before eating.

Venues will be required to follow rigorous hygiene standards before they can open for weddings. These measures are taken to to help combat the spread, and will include increased presence of hand santisers, and more thorough cleaning measures should be in place. If you have any doubts or are concerned about what processes are in place - don't be afraid to ask.

Cut out high-risk guests - you will probably have to narrow down your guest list anyway. Anyone is planning on travelling from abroad or has flu like symtoms should be asked not to attend but so they don't get left out create a video link or zoom of your wedding ceremony.

And finally ....... Maintain Social Distancing, which is currently a requirment for any weddings which go ahead at present. Try and keep same household members and social bubbles together as much as possible and avoid hugs, kisses and handshakes as one to adopt that most reduces the risk of transmission. With sensible precautions, your wedding guests should be safe from COVID-19 and enjoy your day - but definitely party at a later date where there can be plenty of hugs and cuddles - Like and share if this was helpful
