Shamefully, its been 5 MONTHS since my last post! 🫣 And what have I been up to, you ask? Well, the answer is...

Nothing.

😅

Days here and there pottering at my desk but nothing substantial or overly-exciting happening I'm afraid.

2025 has been a bit of a weird one for me, and I've had to prioritise looking after myself over my small business this year. I don' think I'll be fully back this year but I'm always lurking in the background doing something to keep me sane 😌

I look a little bit different from my last 'meet the maker' post so I though I'd re-introduce myself!

Hi! My name is Steph, I am the sole owner and maker of Bonnie and I. I live in the Highlands of Scotland with my partner and 3 amazing kiddos. I've been running Bonnie and I for 6 years now, all from my little desk in my kitchen corner.

When I first started this little hobby of mine, I was making hair bows for my daughter and people started asking me to buy them. I then dabbled in a bit of sewing and started scrunchies, croc straps, more bows and headbands. I then opened my Etsy shop and that kept me busy, along with lots of orders for flower crowns and hair combs.

I then decided to make my own earrings - because why not! I started out playing about with polymer clay and safe to say I became a bit obsessed with it. I have made hundreds of earrings and hair accessories over the six years and loved it all.

Running a small business is harder than it has ever been - even the effect of being involved in a huge lawsuit from a million dollar company (iykyk) has still had huge impact on this small business of mine. I am very very lucky to call this a side hustle rather than my source of income, but I do always rely on support from my amazing customers and followers!

I'm not going anywhere although I may go 'quiet' at times on socials, but I am always lurking in the background normally working on something new (or my brain is at least) and I hope to continue to work on lots of new exciting things in the future!

This idea popped into my head when I made the Halloween ghost frame but I never got round to making it until December. I love the way it has turned out and hope to get some more styles and sizes made.
