Salvage Hound Salvage Hound is a vintage and salvage shop based near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.

I aim to source and restore a range of lights, tables, work benches and other items. Metal is my favorite material but aged wood and glass can also be exciting.

I absolutely loved restoring this 8 drawer collectors cabinet. This had suffered some bangs and bruises and lost some original features. Chess pieces were used to replace broken pulls and replacement trim was added. The whole piece oiled and waxed as usual.

A. Its the side of an old van of course 🤣!

If anyone knows how to preserve this I'm all ears. Current ideas include pouring clear epoxy and some kind of glue/varnish mixture. Oh and several suggested the bin 🤦🤣 but I love the texture and the colour too much for that.

10 drawer metal cabinet with brass handles (6 original, 4 replaced).

The cabinet was originally green but I've used Wax to trap in the patina.

Vintage, beech wood military officers wardrobe lockers. These are the original GR mark on the reverse ant FLK9. They date from the 1920s. Stripped brass hinges and original lock fittings really finish this piece.

These would make a very cool wardrobe, coat cupboard, Kitchen storage or an amazing kids/teens wardrobe.

£250, can be delivered to most of the Highlands ☺️
