After ten years of trading as the 1642 Tailor we have taken a decision that neither of us were looking forward to. Sadly all things must come to an end. As some of you will be aware our output has slowed somewhat over the last year due to one thing and another. Life has got in the way and we feel that we cannot continue making clothes to the standard that we want in any sort of timeframe that our customers need.

There are lots of other makers out there who I’m sure will help you with your costuming needs but from now on the Tailor will not be taking any new orders. There are a few items that we are finishing off but after then that will really be the end for us.

Thanks everyone for your support and custom since 2014. We have had a blast.

Two new coats each made from one of the two colours of russet wool we recently bought in partnership with the Tudor Tailor. The long coat is dark brown (or poor black) and the other dark grey. As with the russet from the period the yarn is natural, undyed sheep colour.
