As a girl who bought her wedding shoes before the dress (I’m an accessories advocate through and through), I’m asking you to really give your veil the time and energy that you give your wedding dress. Custom pieces need time for consultations, sourcing and making, so last minute orders = limited choices, rushed shipping and unnecessary stress. A veil isn’t just an accessory. It’s part of the silhouette, movement & photographs, and it’s never too soon to order your swatches and get planning those all important finer details 🧚

I read something recently about the astrology of 2016 making it a particularly magical year, and seeing the outpouring of love and reminiscing online right now was a trend that for once I actually wanted to hop on. It was such a pivotal year, getting engaged to my love really was the catalyst for W Collective, the excitement of being a bride to be made me realise there was such a gap in the market for accessories (it’s a lil more saturated out here now, but hey, we move). I graduated with a PGCE, allowing me to get into lecturing, teach part time and start my Masters degree which gifted me time to play, do a whole dissertation about this industry and develop my range. Getting a place as one of 100 female business owners at Future Girl Corp, a 12 hour workshop to help kickstart my business just made it the most serendipitous time - one I will always cherish. I had to dig out my notebook from the event today, to remind me who TF I am and what I wanted to create. There are times of late I really, really, really am so close to giving up - but if 2026 is the new 2016 (and soon to be year of the Fire Horse ❤️‍🔥🐎) there’s a little stirring of more to come. If you’re planning your wedding or getting married this year, which of these will you be partaking in? As a side note - I’ve seen so many of these posts since the clock struck midnight and the best trend in the world is to be yourself, make your wedding all about YOU and not feel obliged to appease the overconsumption machine & social media police 💞 or, just be a silly goose if you like 🪿

In a world where every single thing feels like an ad and the fatigue of beating the algorithm is real, what an absolute privilege it is to just have fun and make art. I was feeling like I hadn’t done much this year in terms of this business, but two new stockists and a magazine cover in a low effort year is still something worth celebrating. Grateful for a slower pace & a business that ticks over in the background whilst I enjoy life 🤍✨
