Sue who comes along the Leitholm group on Mondays found this very nice XXL men’s sweatshirt in the store in Berwick upon tweed.

Sue transformed it into a belter of a sweatshirt for her grandson! Sue even re used the ribbing.
She added appliqué Thomas the tank engine characters from a vintage curtain again found in a charity shop.
And there we have a completely one of a kind, made with love garment that’s going to be the envy of everyone in nursery 🚂🚂

Bravo Sue! 👏👏👏

Our members have been busy while we were on our summer break.
Sue made this super cute fully lined jacket for her grandson. We think he’s going to look very smart in his little (Mini) jacket! 🚗🚙

The wonderful thing about sewing is, you can make something that nobody else will have in their wardrobe.
We’d put money on that no one has anything close to this beautiful coat made by Carolyn. The fabric is gorgeous, and the fastening was a repurposed belt buckle!
I mean… bravo Carolyn👏 🤩 💚

Scrapstore Summer Holidays

It’s time for our summer break, and time for yours too we hope.
Fisherrow will be closed next week, 6th to 10th July
Selkirk will be closed for a fortnight from Monday 27th July, open again Tuesday 11th August.
It’s sort of staggered, so one of us will be open most of the summer.

Karen found a very nice man’s shirt in the charity shop.
But as always Karen knew she could make it better.
She unpicked and turned the cuffs so the floral fabric was visible, shortened the length for a more feminine tailored look, and bingo, a lovely summertime blouse!

What an absolute triumph this renovation is!
These photos don’t do this fabric and the cushions justice at all. Just stunning!
Carolyn made a first class job out of recovering her sofa cushions.
