I’m currently working on a new design! And I am really excited about it. Here is a photo of the initial prototype, don’t look too closely at the stitching! Part of my development process involves taking apart and putting back together the same bits of fabric lots and lots of times haha!
Still working out a few tweaks, mainly with the lid, but getting there now! I think mini rucksacks are so useful, I've used this so much already.
The concept for this came about from a few commissions I have had to make bags from late family members tweed jackets. This mini rucksack has been developed around the features and fabric found in a standard coat. It’s a small size and ridiculously cute (if I do say so myself!) as such its been lovingly names the ‘CP’ pack (cutie pie pack).
Fabric is the biggest cost in all of my makes, so my plan for this is to allow people to provide a coat they want their CP pack to be made from, reducing the bag cost and recycling something that may otherwise be thrown away or gather dust in a cupboard. Plus, it’s better for the environment to be re-using fabric and fixings! So if you have an anorak lying around you don’t use or want, but would like one of these, give me a shout to start the process!
Would love to hear your thoughts!
