As a company this post signifies the end of the road. We will no longer be selling Bothy2bothy merchandise.

We thoroughly enjoyed the journey but all three of us have gotten increasingly busy in our personal life and have lost the necessary motivation to keep the company going. The Instagram and pages will remain up and running where we will continue to post content from our adventures past and present.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the company whether it was a purchase from our website or simply following our page. Who knows, maybe something bigger and better lurks around the corner for bothy2bothy.

Yours sincerely Arran, David and Trystan.

Getting out in the mountains for a couple nights or going on a great Bothy trip is a craving we have almost everyday. Being out there truly makes you self reliant and self aware. It allows you to discover more about yourself and what your capabilities are. This connects us to the outdoor lifestyle because we learn different things about ourselves more and more as we get out there. The freedom we get from the stress and daily problems just seem to disappear for that time away which gives you the time to get to know yourself. This lifestyle isn’t just a hobby, it’s a passion.

Check out our Blog post from last week where Trystan Andrews (co-founder and director) tells us why he likes Bothies so much!

Everyone has their own reasons for going on bothy trips. Just like how many people discover bothies in different ways. Right now, I am going to talk about why I hold bothying so highly and who knows, maybe you can relate. So, you will have read the story of my first bothy trip (if not it is availabl...

It's class to walk in conditions that are favourable. Sun shining, blue skies. But the wind, the rain and the snow seem to make the walking all the more exciting and the destination even more worthwhile. Sitting in a bothy with the fire crackling away while you can hear the rain battering on the roof, there is something peaceful and relaxing about it.

Coiremor/ Magoos bothy. We visited on 02/01/2020. Amazing how on the way back we were discussing how we could use a bothy as a world war 3 bunker if we need to. Little did we know that it would have been even more perfect as a COVID bunker. Imagine the peace, the Land Rover track even goes right to the bothy, perfect for bringing in supplies.

The path, inevitably, will end at some point. When you get to the end of the path, what will you do? Turn around and stick to the path and the certainty it provides? Or will you venture away from the path, allow the mystery and the unknown to pull you into its heart? We all have this choice in life, what do you choose? Adventure or conformity.

From the beginning of 2020 at Magoos bothy, we joked about going out to a bothy if World War 3 hit, if only we thought of bunking out in a bothy during the pandemic, the ultimate feeling of freedom that only solitude can bring.

Bothies for us are a resetting of the mind, a few days in a bothy without Internet or any creature comforts reminds us of how lucky we truly are. Grounds our feet back on the planet and makes us realise how small we really are in the grand scheme of the universe, which we find very humbling.
