If my 40s have taught me anything, it’s to value your true friends. Those friends that show up when things are hard and remain a constant light in your life - even those friends that live far away and you can’t see very often. You know you’ll pick up where you left off even if it was a loooong time ago.
What it’s also taught me, is how some friends come for seasons (work, kids, location) and that’s ok. Some friends you find when life is tough and you can lean on each other. Others, that you may have thought were true friends, move on unexpectedly when you’re no longer part of their chapter.
Invest in the good friends, even if the numbers are few. I have some AMAZING friends but my goodness has my 40s been hard for realising who they are.
This quilt is for one of my gorgeous friends, Liz. We met a very long time ago when we were solicitors. Starting out as work friends, we then evolved into mum friends, and now we are just “old” friends. Liz loves tea and red so that’s the basis of this quilt. She likes other things too to be clear.
Happy 40 plus 10 to my lovely, kind, thoughtful, reliable Miss E Jones ###x
PS: the quilt is far from perfect (spot the upside down mugs 😳 but it just proves it was handmade!!)
