If my 40s have taught me anything, it’s to value your true friends. Those friends that show up when things are hard and remain a constant light in your life - even those friends that live far away and you can’t see very often. You know you’ll pick up where you left off even if it was a loooong time ago.

What it’s also taught me, is how some friends come for seasons (work, kids, location) and that’s ok. Some friends you find when life is tough and you can lean on each other. Others, that you may have thought were true friends, move on unexpectedly when you’re no longer part of their chapter.

Invest in the good friends, even if the numbers are few. I have some AMAZING friends but my goodness has my 40s been hard for realising who they are.

This quilt is for one of my gorgeous friends, Liz. We met a very long time ago when we were solicitors. Starting out as work friends, we then evolved into mum friends, and now we are just “old” friends. Liz loves tea and red so that’s the basis of this quilt. She likes other things too to be clear.

Happy 40 plus 10 to my lovely, kind, thoughtful, reliable Miss E Jones ###x

PS: the quilt is far from perfect (spot the upside down mugs 😳 but it just proves it was handmade!!)

What to give my dog obsessed sister for her birthday …. I know, a handmade tote in dog/golden retriever fabric! I couldn’t quite believe it when I found this fabric - it’s her to a tee! 🐶🐾

This bag had its first outing yesterday to the Trafford Centre (lucky it 😳). I love the cherry detail on this fabric . It’s the same pattern I’ve used before but this is a more regular size! 🍒♥️🍒♥️🍒♥️🍒

I finished this delight of a bag today, and I think it might be my favourite make yet.I love this fabric—the pattern just feels like spring/summer.

I actually bought the fabric ages ago from an independent dressmaker who was closing down. I’d originally planned to make a skirt, but there wasn’t quite enough fabric… so this felt like the perfect alternative.

It’s definitely on the larger side—I wanted to show off as much of the print as possible—but I’ve no doubt it’ll get plenty of use.

I debated whether to add the contrasting ruffle fabric but I’m glad I did as I think it completes the bag. It also has a drawstring so you can close it.

I used the Lavanda Tote Bag pattern (but scaled it up to increase the size) by Porche.

I’ve made a bit of a change in direction—hopefully the last one!

While I really enjoyed finding and curating gifts, turning it into a business takes a lot of time and constant social media posting… and that’s not for me!

So I’m going back to where it all started—sewing.

This time there’s no selling, just sharing. I’ll be posting my makes, a few ideas for anyone else who loves to sew, and the occasional tutorial. Mostly, I want this space to be a record of what I create.

Building work at home last year put sewing on hold for a while, but now that’s finished, I’m properly back into it—and loving it.

I’ve kicked off 2026 with a big project for a friend’s birthday (which I’ll keep under wraps for now), and I’ve got plenty more lined up to share.

🧦 As a kid, opening my stocking was always my favourite part of Christmas. Now that I don’t get one myself 😭, I get just as much joy from putting together a stocking for my daughter — my son is another story… his edit’s coming soon!

I actually think teen girls are fairly easy to buy for (albeit they’re expensive creatures). So here’s my mix of stocking fillers — all under £25 — a blend of little luxuries, useful bits, and fun surprises. And of course, I’d still sneak in the traditional orange and £1 coin 🍊✨

Do you still get a stocking as an adult? Or have you taken over as chief stocking curator?

Which one would your teen love most? 💕

🌿 PS: The Garden Edit

I’ll admit it — I’m far from a gardener - plants survive in my garden by stealth and good luck! But with years of experience buying gifts for one (hi Dad 👋🏻), I’ve come to know what makes a great garden-inspired present.

This edit is full of thoughtful, beautiful pieces for anyone who loves pottering outdoors — from practical tools and seed sets to fun, design-led finds that bring a little joy to their shed or greenhouse.

Perfect for the green-fingered, the garden-curious, or even the “I’ll just admire the flowers” type (like me!).

🌸 PS: The Floral Edit 🌸

This might just be my favourite edit yet… a joyful celebration of all things floral, from ditsy prints to bold blooms 🌿✨

No floral edit would be complete without a nod to Liberty of London 🌼 Their prints are iconic and ooze class and elegance. I 💚 the Oh So Daisy blanket (and have recently decorated with their gorgeous wallpaper).

This collection is all about bringing a little colour and cheer to the darker months. Give them flowers this Christmas!

PS: The Glow-Up Edit ✨
For the friend who loves a pamper night, your sister who’s all about self-care Sundays, or a little treat for yourself.

Think glossy lips, soft skin, and luxe scents — all the little things that make someone feel put together and loved. 💛

Personally, I would love to receive any of these products, particularly the Liberty gift set. And any Swifties in your life will be made up to receive Taylor’s fave shampoo 🫶.
