NOTICE TO LADY MEMBERS

Following a small but spirited incident near the ladies’ tee, the Committee has reviewed the matter of summer golf attire.

It has been agreed that shirts may now be blue, navy, white, sleeveless, zip-necked, short-sleeved or otherwise quietly composed.

Dresses are also permitted, despite initial resistance from two members of the old guard who believed anything with a zip collar required its own subcommittee.

Further objections may be submitted in writing, folded neatly, and ignored until September.

A heatwave has apparently been scheduled for the next while.

This is, of course, welcome news, provided one has the correct shirt.

Our performance wicking polos have been prepared for such an occasion: lightweight, breathable, and designed to move moisture away from the body before anyone in the group begins using the word “scorching” incorrectly.

The collar has also been dealt with.

Fitted with an anti-curl construction, it has been designed to hold its shape through heat, humidity, repeated wear, and the sort of prolonged clubhouse inspection that ruins lesser garments.

Suitable for summer golf, mild perspiration, and the traditional Scottish heatwave lasting anywhere between three holes and a fortnight.
