My son out today at a Victorian garden party in Llandrindod Wells!
He’s wearing a modern suit, vintage waistcoat and a Ridgmont Paris hat. The tie pin was passed on to me when my uncle died, he always wore a three piece suit and he’d be so proud of Tristan today. ♥️
Bonus: Toothless.

So half my plans for Llandrindod Wells next week died in a fire because everyone got Covid and I’ve been mostly out of studio for the last few weeks, but I got this one done!

These trousers are so ridiculous and I love them!
Jack’s ‘Royal Doulton Bowl’ trousers from Mary Poppins Returns, hand painted with and detailed with acrylic paint markers. Just buttons and hems to do on these!

I haven’t done serious cosplay for myself in years, but the pair from Mary Poppins Returns required a do!
And because it’s me I’m using Victorian patterns and making some modifications for historical accuracy.
These outrageous pants are made using a Laughing Moon pattern and hand painted with Setacolor Opaque, then detailed with fabric markers. Only three more sides and a waistband to go!

Pirate Waistcoat: Episode 4?
It’s wearable! Today was collar day, which is patterned by me and sewn by him. He also sewed the side seams closed so now he just has buttonholes, buttons and back lacing to do!
Deliberately large because he is on a growth spurt at the moment, the sod 😂♥️

Pirate Waistcoat: Episode 3!
Difficult session maintaining attention but a productive one - functional pockets, with understitched (!!!) flaps, and lined fronts!
Next up: backs and collar.

Pirate Waistcoat: episode 2!
Tristan managed to get all of his linings cut, and halfway through sewing welt pockets today before his attention died, which is pretty impressive 2bh.
He has learned to use a rotary cutter and still has all of his fingers 🤘🏻
There’s a half smile there which in his words is ‘the best you’re gonna get’ 😂
Vodka time for mama.
