The only silverware the "Old Lady" would get their hands on during the 2003/04 campaign, would be the curtain raiser to the Serie A season, the Super CoppaItaliana. At the New York Red Bull arena, the likes of Del Piero, Conte and Nedved would overcome another star studded lineup in AC Milan, 6-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. The "Bianconeri" would finish third in Serie A and go on to be knocked out by Deportivo La Coruna in the Champions League round of sixteen, losing one-nil over both legs.

The Olympiastadion Berlin, home of Hertha Berlin and the scene of the infamous Zidane head-butt at the 2006 World Cup. During that campaign, Hertha would finish sixth in the Bundesliga, meaning they could qualify for the following years' Europa League. One notable signing of that season, would be the promotion of a young Kevin-Prince Boateng, from Hertha Berlin II to the senior squad. He would go on to play for sixteen other clubs, winning five major honours and representing Ghana fifteen times, including scoring a thunder bolt of a goal against the USA at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The 2007/08 Champions League campaign would end relatively early for the "Galacticos" having been knocked out by AS Roma in the last sixteen qualifying rounds, as two goals from Raul over both legs, would be cancelled out by goals from Pizzaro and Mancini in Rome, then Taddei and a late winning header by Vucinic at the Bernabeu. However, domestic success would follow as "Los Blancos" would finish as champions, eight points clear of second place Villareal and eighteen points clear of bitter rivals Barcelona, to clinch their thirty-first title.

The Italian lineup for the 1998 World Cup in France would, as usual, be a star studded show; Cannavaro, Maldini, Baggio, Del Piero and the list goes on... however, having only scraped a draw in their opening game with Chile, the Azzuri would progress through the group stages (as well as getting the better of Norway in the round-of-sixteen, courtesy of a single Christian Vieri goal), and meet hosts France in the Quarter-Finals. After a goalless hour-and-a-half of football, Demetrio Albertini and Luigi Di Biagio would miss their penalties in the shootout and therefore eventual winners' France would qualify through to the Semis.

The season of 1999/00 would be dull for Bury fans, as the club were to finish fifteenth in League One, having manager Neil Warnock leaving for home town club Sheffield United at the start of December. Warnock shortly after took future veteran goalkeeper Paddy Kenny with him to Sheffield United, having made a 133 appearances for "The Shakers", he would then make exactly double the amount of appearances for "The Blades". The club is now rebuilding in the lower leagues of the English football pyramid after being liquidated in 2020.
