* Testimonial Tuesday *
I thought I’d take a different perspective this week (which may or may not be because I can’t access reviews on my phone) and give you my review of sling swing.
This is me and Amelia aged 4 days old. It was about three weeks before the post natal depression arrived. When it did I didn’t know anyone else with a baby, my husband was back to work and I found myself sitting at home everyday looking at a baby who screamed if I picked her up.
Someone suggested I find a baby group, so I googled ‘baby dancing class’ and found a Sling Swing class in Halifax. I arrived with a howling infant and a wobbly smile. I was welcomed by a group of lovely ladies who all assured me things do get easier.
Within three dances Amelia has stopped crying, half way through the class I smiled for what felt like the first time in ages. By the end of the class I asked the lovely Fiona how I could start my own classes in Leeds.
Within 6 weeks I had trained and opened Sling Swing Leeds in September 2016, two of the ladies in that first class are still friends now 6 years on.
And that’s how it began, I made friends, started to feel better and learnt tips and tricks from other mums, then we started spotting the wobbly smiles and making sure those ladies felt included. Soon we had a big gang of Sling Swingers, (once you’re in you never leave the gang). Some people don’t come to class any
More, so we all keep in touch on the . Some have brought back second babies to dance with and we’ve recently enjoyed the return of someone from that very first class with a third baby.
So for me, Sling Swing was the game changer, I’ve made so many friends and had so much fun and that’s why I continue to run the classes even though my girls are now in school. So thank you to all of my Sling Swingers, it’s been a ball. And I hope it will long continue!
