Meet the man behind Hemingway Tailors — Toby Luper.
Tailoring is in Toby’s blood.

Raised in Yorkshire’s historic clothing industry, he grew up surrounded by craftsmanship, fabrics, and the values of traditional tailoring. His grandfather was a master tailor in Leeds during the 1940s, while his father and uncle ran one of the largest tailoring factories in the country, producing garments for some of Britain’s biggest names.

By the age of 19, Toby was already building his own path in the industry, before founding Hemingway Tailors in 2005 with one clear vision: to create the “Savile Row of the North.”

Today, over 50 years into his tailoring journey, Toby continues to champion timeless style, exceptional fabrics, and true craftsmanship, creating bespoke garments designed to last for years, not seasons.
