I have some news…

I am going to be putting my camera down at the end of September and stepping away from Jan Sweeney Photography for a while.

Life begins at 40 🎉

I am celebrating my 40th birthday this weekend and of course I want to bring you guys along for the ride!

From 7am on Friday 15th July to midnight on Sunday 17th July, I am offering a HUGE 40% off my full price sessions. These include;

Baby Lifestyle Session
Outdoor Child/Family Session at Golden Acre Park
Outdoor Child/Family Session at Roundhay Park

The discounted session will cost just £177. This includes digital files of all edited images from your session (20-25) and a 7x5 inch print of each image. You will only have to pay a £75 deposit to book your slot and this will be deducted from the balance.

I will not be running any Mini Sessions before the Christmas Minis so you may want to use this discounted session for your first day at school/back to school photos or perhaps friendship photos for school leavers or maybe a family reunion or celebration.

Who is loving the summer evenings? ☀️

If you have followed me for a while you will know that I LOVE golden hour light for images. I appreciate that rocking up to the park for a photo shoot isn’t always practical with small children but I wanted to give you the option.

Getting involved

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it plenty more times but I really encourage parents to get involved in these sessions. It may be the last thing you feel like doing but, as your baby grows out of the teeny, cuddly stage, you will be so grateful you have them.

The images that include you can be really subtle and natural and I will respect any direction you give me if you aren’t feeling confident.

The long and short of it is, appear in the images and you will thank me for it 💕

Top Spots

I have found there are two locations that work really well for these lifestyle sessions.

The first is your bed! The size really helps and not only does it show how teeny your baby is, it allows the whole family to get involved. There are so many shots we can do on your bed.

If you want to get prepared before the session, you could clear your bedside tables and hide the chargers etc. However, there is no pressure to do this and it’s something I can easily do when I arrive.

The second is baby’s nursery. I know people put lots of effort into this space prior to baby’s arrival so it’s only right we include it in your gallery. Plus, it usually holds lots of little keepsakes and special items that we can try to include.

Becoming a big brother or sister is a huge deal to children. They can be proud, protective, and of course a bit unsure and anxious.

When siblings are involved, this is probably who I spend most of my time with. Sibling shots are very precious to parents so if I can win over the big brother or sister, I usually end up with the images everyone wants.

Building up a rapport with my little models before I’ve even got my camera out of the bag is so important and time very well spent.

BABY LIFESTYLE SESSIONS

How do they work?

The session takes place in your home and lasts around 60 minutes although it is very much led by baby. If baby needs fed/changed/a little nap, there is no issue.

Prior to the session, I am happy to chat you on the phone or via text/email to discuss what you should wear and how you can prepare for the session.

When I arrive, I will ask you if you have any specific shots in mind or want to include any particular keepsakes. We will then have a little walk around the house picking out the best locations in terms of setting any light. I am more than happy to clear shelves and move things around a little so that your images look less cluttered. Basically, don’t stress and feel like you need to Mrs Hinch your home before I arrive. You have a tiny human to look after 💕
