Inspired by this humble Victorian bottle.
A gathering of bottles and vases are on the workbench this weekend as I prepare for my next fair .
It will be my first outing to this event as I was struck down with the covids when I was meant to be taking part last year. Looking forward to doing a fair that's just down the road from me and meeting a host of new potters.
Go forth and eat lots of chocolates everyone!!

Its me!! Stand by my work at a trade fair in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate.
The fair is on for three days and customers come from shops, galleries and museums from all over the country to place orders.

Here I am all set up for my first trade fair in a while. Its been a long time coming. So nice to see so many old friends exhibiting here as well and have a hug and a catch up.
In a strange way it feels like just the other day we were all here and then you remember that its been TWO WHOLE YEARS. Crazy times.

Here is the coiled pot I posted about a couple of weeks ago looking all shiny after its final firing.
Im really delighted with it even though it has a blow out fault in the glaze!!
This single piece has sent me off into a whole new world of inspiration which I will share with you at a later date when I've developed it in more detail.

Two bottles. Slabbed and coiled. Still need a bit of tidying up. A new shape for me but I like it!

Next on to painting and decorating this coiled bottle vase.
My mind is filled with ideas and im still pondering what to put into the picture..we will have to see.
Now time to let it slowly dry.

You may not be familiar with my past but originally I trained as a dancer at the in London.
When I left I joined a performance company called Company Of Cracks.
The image shown here was part of a performance in 1983-4. Me at the front right. We were a subversive group,rebelling against the conforms of dance in an archaic way.
Those early experiences have formed my whole creative practice. Looking for the 'different' the 'rough around the edges' both in my own work and other peoples. Forging ahead in my own way on my own terms.
I am continually inspired by women on a daily basis. Minute by minute, hour by hour.
The fighters. The outspoken. The hard workers. The rebels. The go getters.
