The Scottish Highlands are one of the most sparsely populated regions in Europe, but they were once far more crowded than they are today. In the 18th and 19th centuries, many communities were forcibly cleared from the land during the Highland Clearances, when people were evicted to make way for large-scale sheep farming. Entire villages disappeared, and the population of some areas dropped permanently.

The Scottish Highlands remain as one of our favourite places and remains a vital part of British rural culture. Our flock numbers are declining due to many economic pressures.

It doesn't have to be from us, but take a look at the shop and help support our local farmers. You'll be ever so glad you've got something to last the ages, and is much better for this wonderful planet we call home.

I’d buy another copy but that might go against what this book is about. Just need to steal it off Keith somehow so we can all get a chance to read it!

Honoured to be mentioned by in his outstanding Sunday Times Best Seller. Are we biased because we’ve been named dropped? A little. But this is a must read as it covers the highly controversial topics of not destroying the planet and not being wasteful.

There are some awesome brands listed in there along with some pretty graphs and photos for my fellow attentionally challenged (yes that’s a made up saying)

We’re just happy that we can finally talk about what’s been brewing at the galactic HQ over the past few months.

This is definitely not a new style. Many other manufacturers have made Fairisle jumpers but none of them have managed to do it with British Wool and for good reason. It requires an in depth knowledge of both knitting and yarns and fortunately there’s plenty of that with our Martians.
