So weird, just picked up June's copy of Knitting Machine Monthly and we are featured on the 1st page!!! 🤯🥳

We had absolutely no idea about this and are so honoured to be featured in this popular national magazine! 🥹📰📣

Something very surreal about opening a publication (which we don't actually subscribe to and just randomly picked up at the local newsagents, Conochies!) and seeing your own business/designs staring back at you! 🧶➿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I always enjoy projects that combine people, animals, products, and landscape in a natural way — and getting to showcase the islands at the same time is always a bonus.

Overjoyed to have a brand new Shima Seiki after years of 2nd hand machinery! And a dream to have a Wholegarment too!

This will allow us to expand our manufacturing capacity and production. Plans are already in motion to move to a larger studio which will allow us to hire staff and take on students/graduates for placements too!

Thank you again Time Finance for giving us this opportunity which we have been working towards for so long!!! 🧶🐑➿🥳

R.A.M Knitwear invests in Shima Seiki...

Shetland Islands based designer and manufacturer R.A.M Knitwear is accelerating its growth following the acquisition of a new Shima Seiki knitting machine, funded through a £75,000 Asset Finance facility from Time Finance.

The business, known for producing bespoke knitted products using surplus luxury yarns including merino wool, silk and lambswool, has built a reputation as a sustainable and innovative manufacturer. The addition of the new machine is enabling the company to significantly increase production capacity while expanding its product range.

Speldiburn cafe is back open for the summer!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Be sure to pop in to see Estelle in her lovely woolly workshop too! 🐑🧶➿

Our studio and shop is now open on Thursdays 11am - 3pm throughout the summer season (April - September).
Why not come visit us in the Speldiburn Community Centre in Bressay, just a short ferry ride away from central Lerwick? In the centre you will also find .labourne s artist studio, a Good As New Shop, many more local arts and crafts, and of course the Speldiburn café for light lunches and home bakes.
We are approx 20min away from the ferry on foot, or a very short drive.
The studio will be open at other times too, so do check our social media for announcements, or get in touch to arrange a time to suit you 😊
