I cannot WAIT to be part of Out of Fashion Event with Fashion Declares on Sept 11th for London Textile Month.

Together we will be changing the shape of fashion. Fashion Declares climate emergency are changing fashion from the bottom up - woah!🤩 I’ll be participating in changing fashion from the top end and making the most of the clothes we leave behind. The rest of the day is everything inbetween 🙌
When you turn up to a swap – with a tote of pre-loved pieces and an open mind – you’re not just keeping textiles out of landfill (although yes, please, more of that). You’re also practising a new way of thinking: clothing as something to be cherished, shared, celebrated. You’re joining a community of people who’ve decided that enough is enough. That we can do fashion differently. That we can be stylish without being complicit.

Mending your clothes is a revolutionary act in the face of throwaway fashion. It’s also food for the soul and shows a deep respect for the people who made them. A sustainable restorative approach to wearing our clothes is ever present with me and I’m thrilled to be bringing it to in St Davids on October 17th.

I’ll also be hosting The Great DOLLY Clothes Swap and talking all things sustainable clothing from swapping to sewing from mending to making before then:
Sept 11th
London Textile Month
Conway Hall, London
Workshops & Conversations, Craft, Clothing & Circularity: Out of Fashion with Fashion Declares and Selvedge

Bring what you can, take what you like – it’s as simple (and as radical) as that.

I'm so excited to take part in this month-long celebration of cloth, craft, and culture across London. From 1–30 September 2026, Selvedge is bringing together a hand-picked selection of artists, makers, brands, and institutions to share the textiles that connect us all.
Expect workshops, exhibitions, talks, open studios, and pop-up events – all designed to spark creativity and conversation. Whether you’re a lifelong maker, a collector, or simply curious, you’ll find inspiration, insight, and community at every turn.
The 2nd edition of London Textile Month features a vibrant programme of events spanning fashion, interiors, art, and design. Discover rare vintage fabrics, learn new skills from master craftspeople, and hear the stories behind some of the world’s most sustainable and beautiful textiles.

I live in Lewes, East Sussex. I’ve been working in the world of garment production, repair and refit since 2012. I have a utter passion for keeping clothes in circulation from mending to clothes swaps, teaching to tailoring.
I’m on a mission to fight against mass consumption and throwaway clothes and I believe there’s a wealth of power and revolution in a tiny needle and thread. I’m interested in the stories behind the mend and the motivation to keep clothes. Sewing is a deep source of joy and discovery.

I’ll be hosting the curated clothes swap at Conway Hall on Sept 11th at the Craft, Clothing & Circularity: Out of Fashion event.

We’re off to St Davids on our annual family hols tomorrow! I cannot wait to get to those beaches and coastal footpaths and spend time with my children - plus their friends and partners, it’s all in!
My trusty sewing machine is ever present so I’ll be picking up those set aside projects and catching up on my darning and mending on the beach.

I feel like August is my natural end of year and with that comes reflection, what did we collectively achieve this year. So here’s the wins/end of year skool report/victory log!

Together, we made a mahossive difference! WOOHOO!

587 garments repaired
Instead of replacing them, 587 cherished garments were given a new lease of life right here at DOLLY.

587 garments mended = a meaningful environmental impact 🌿
• ♻️ 587 garments kept in use for longer instead of being replaced too soon.
• 💧 Between 4-9 million litres of water saved by avoiding the production of new garments.
• 🌍 Around 17.6 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided through reduced demand for new clothing.
• 🗑️ 7 tonnes of textile waste kept out of landfill
• 🪡 Every repair is a step towards a more circular, less wasteful fashion industry.
💰Average repair value of £52.99 invested
Our customers chose to care for what they already own.

Not to mention the mental wellbeing from loving your clothes so much and feeling good in your second skin.

Massive high 5 people 👍🤩💕
I’ll be back for more week beginning 1st Sept. See ya 😘
