Last year really wasn't great for sewing, but I finally picked this little project up that I started last year!

It's a Suki dress from Tilly & the Buttons third book & I love it. Next time I'd maybe keep the length a little longer & not worry about the belt loops, but overall very happy with the outcome.

Now just waiting for some sunshine so I don't have to layer up!

Unpopular opinion alert: I'm actually glad to see lower rise jeans coming back into fashion 😳 personally I just find them that bit more comfortable, especially when they're loose.

It also meant that a suitably 90s vibe sweater was in order 😁 love the colours & stripes on this French Terry & can't wait to to take it out & about... Also, I'm a little bit impressed with how the stripes have matched up!

I'm a big fan of slow sewing, but it gets decidedly slower when I make a mistake 😖 I tend to put off sorting it out from fear of how hard it's going to be, but a lot of the time, it's not actually too bad!

If sewing has taught me one thing, it's that mistakes aren't the end of the world, something I could probably do with carrying over to other parts of my life...

A little bit of a post for you.

A couple of years ago my mum got me a sewing machine for my birthday after I'd said I was 'maybe, possibly thinking about trying making my own clothes' & in the bliss of naivety thought this was a good first project 🙉

Even though it was slow going I was so pleased with how it turned out! I think this was back in April 2019...
