I’ve been working on a really excited local project for Transported lately, making banners for the Hanseatic league parade in Boston. Yesterday I was at Pescod hall running workshops creating pieced textiles which I will then use to create elements of the banners. If you would like to join in there are still some places available tomorrow. No sewing skills required and the workshop is free!

Booked through eventbrite -

I am going to Japan in May and I’ve got lots of sewing plans!!! Naturally these may well end up being time dependent, but let me know what you think and keep an eye out for my progress!

Some stills of my recent make as part of the ambassador team. I just absolutely love these prints and although they are different designs I think they work so well together!

This is the Azure dress from . I love the asymmetrical tiers, it was a really nice sew and I’m going to get so much wear out of it!

I made a straight size 12 with no adjustments
My current measurements are
Hb 35.5
Fb 37 1/4
Waist 33 1/2
Hip 40

I am planning on creating a small capsule wardrobe for our trip to Japan on May so this will be the first garment in the selection!

Also a little glimpse at my healed sewing inspired tattoo by ! I need to share this one properly as I think you might love it!

What do you think of this make? Have you tried this pattern before?

Ad|Ambassador Project - Just a teeny tiny bit obsessed with this new make!!! As soon as I spotted these fabrics from fabricgodmother I just knew I had to make myself something with them.

The blue fabric is called ā€˜lady luck’ and it is a viscose lawn, I’ve paired it with the ivory print called ā€˜fortune’ which is also a viscose lawn. I love that the fabrics aren’t identical prints but they compliment each other so perfectly!

I chose the Azure dress from I love the asymmetrical tiers it’s such a nice details! Although be careful and don’t do what I did - cut out the front bodice mirrored 🫣 oops!! Luckily I had enough fabric to go again.

We are travelling to Japan in May and I think this dress will be the perfect first part of my wardrobe for the trip! The cats on the fabric really remind me of the last time we visited.

The dress is super versatile, and I enjoyed having a play around to see how I could fit it into my wardrobe already!

How would you style this?

I don’t often do batch sewing but ive been trying to find my style again recently and Nikko tops are an absolute staple of mine so it made sense to do a batch sew in a mix of different colours for easy wearing.

I have a dual overlocker/coverstitch machine so this is a great way to make the most of swapping between machine settings.

Cut out all your fabric first and organise into similar colours.

I use Ivory thread in my second needle and my loopers as this blends in with most of my fabric colours the best. I then simply change the left needle thread to match my fabric as this is the only one which might be seen. I don’t use perfect shades, as long as it is close enough it will do, for example I use the same brown thread for all my brown and orange fabrics.

Do ALL the overlocking first before swapping to coverstitch.

When I swap to coverstitch I keep the looper in ivory and just swap the two top stitching threads.

And just like that I’ve got a whole heap of new T-shirts!

I am so glad I finally got round to making this, maybe not the most exciting of sews but it’s something I really love wearing so I’m glad I finally got round to it!

Let me know if you have any tips for batch sewing.

Made another new running set recently, this was a matte sports Lycra from

sports suitable fabrics are very new to me, I’m finding it a little tricky to know what is suitable for getting hot and sweaty in, which will also have the right amount of stretch and recovery, that won’t make me too hot, but will also feel nice against my skin! Because turns out I’m far more aware of my senses and textures whilst doing sports.

I wasn’t sure how I thought I’d feel about Lycra but actually I really love it, it’s nice and soft and I feel like it holds my body just the right amount, and I like how it glides with movement.

This was a gifted fabric as part of being an ambassador and I have done a full write up on their website.

I made a hacked although I didn’t quite get the neckband right. I paired it with the and added a pocket in the back waistband which is super handy!
