How do you make a pair of leggings out of recycled plastic bottles?

Step 1:
The bottles are collected and the caps and labels are removed from the bottles.

Step 2:
The bottles are sterilised, dried and crushed, the chips are heated and passed through a spinneret to form strings of yarn, and wound up into spools to form a fibre.

Step 3.
The fibre is passed through a crimping machine to create a fluffy texture (similar to raw cotton)

Step 4:
The yarn is baled, dyed and knitted into polyester fabric.

Step 5:
The fabric is cut and sewn and ready to be a new gym legging!

Just think - this process has just saved 5million plastic bottles ending up in the ocean or filling up landfills and have been given a second chance!

Recycled polyester is high quality, and our gym leggings will last you a very long time!
