Ste was driving home from watching a Christmas film with his girlfriend and son on Christmas eve, when they were crashed into by a suspected drink/drug driver. His son suffered only minor injuries, his girlfriend is still in hospital with severe injuries and has needed surgery. Unfortunately Ste never made it, and passed away due to his injuries.
Ste was a top man, a family man who loved nothing more than his family, and football. He adored Everton. He gave so much back to the game once he stopped playing himself, and coached/managed grass roots kids teams. Even though he had a lot on he still cracked on and put the kids in those teams first.
A great striker, a boss lad and a man everyone who met him will miss greatly. Ste Jones was a class act, and has cruely been ripped away from his family.
