After a thoroughly enjoyable break from this social media lark, I'm back baby. The workshop has been up and running since early January, but it's probably time to jump back on the horse and return to spamming you all with glorious leather goods again.
The Christmas break was fantastic. Probably the most enjoyable in years. I managed to strike a bit more of a work/life balance for the first time, so actually got to enjoy some time not sat at my workbench, which for December is a novelty. Still a fair few 1am finishes, but overall it ran much more smoothly.
We picked out the best Christmas tree I've ever seen, cooked Christmas dinner for 9 and managed to not poison anybody, and enjoyed the build up to the big day as much as the main event itself.
It's a unique gift I get every year, to receive messages throughout Christmas day from those of you who have bought a special gift from Rawhide Custom, passing on the glowing feedback from the recipients when they've opened their new leather goods nestled beneath the tree.
This year there was more of a slant towards bespoke items, which was a nice change. I've got plenty of photos to share in coming weeks, but again I want to say thank you for choosing this independent workshop to create those gifts to last a lifetime.
I hope you all had a great break (though it already feels an age ago) and are enjoying a happy start to 2026.
Here's to a year of health, happiness, and plenty of adventure.
And here's to my Guinness World Record for the most belated New Year post.
