Very satisfying fix yesterday! The rip on this fly rug was a fair size, but we managed to repair the damage and even camouflage it a little. We really do need to get out more 😂

A very quick fix this evening! The elastic on this half chap that fits under the boot had come away as the stitches had become loose. The machine we use for all our repairs is actually an industrial machine for sewing leather which makes it perfect for sewing ripstop fabric and webbing straps and many other layers at the same time! At over sixty years old, it’s older than I am!!
If you have any repairs of a similar nature, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Hope you’re all staying safe and well 😊

Good morning peeps! It’s been quiet on here, and we haven’t posted anything during the pandemic, but it’s been far from quiet in the sewing room! Firstly, we once again have a sewing room after being relegated to the box room! After downsizing our home last year, we didn’t quite have room to accommodate our vast collection of sewing/crafting kit. One of the positives of this scary time, was that we had the chance to look at the layout of our home, and make changes to fit in with our lifestyle. So, after hu***ng furniture from one room to another, we have now got the space to do the things we love. As an NHS employee myself, I decided to answer the call to arms and get sewing scrubs for our brave frontline staff. I’ve lost count already of how many I’ve done, but the machines have been whirring and chugging (and throwing hissy fits!) well into the late evening. But........ in between waiting for collection of completed scrubs, and delivery of ones to be made up, I actually had chance to do a relatively easy fix to a fly rug. It had been rubbing the wearer on his hips, so the owner kindly marked where he wanted some fabric sewing to prevent this. Hopefully it will remedy the problem.
Hope you’re all keeping well and in good spirits, and more importantly that you’re safe. 😊

First set of scrubs ready for delivery tomorrow, and another set nearly pinned ready for sewing tomorrow morning 😊

Whilst (im)patiently waiting for fabric for making scrubs for the NHS, I was asked to fix a cushion from a sofa. It’s been a very satisfying quest, and hasn’t taken as long as I thought. The lining containing the filling was too far gone, so I made a replacement before fixing the canine damage! Hope you’re all keeping well and staying safe. Those of us with horses will feel very blessed for the opportunity to regain some sanity whilst looking after our frisky, spring grass loving maniacs! 😂🙈

It’s been a while since I posted here, and obviously everything has changed drastically! I’m temporarily switching skills from rug repairs to making scrubs for our local hospitals. I know this is a very difficult time, but if any of my followers are in a position to donate to this fabulous organisation, they would really appreciate it. It will go towards costs of fabric and other items needed to make the scrub sets. We’re all giving what time we have to get sewing for the love of our NHS. Hope you all stay safe 😊

It’s been a while since we posted anything, but we have been busy. We had to postpone our repair services for a while to give us chance to settle in to our new home. Downsizing isn’t as easy as we thought! But we’re settled and have had a very cosy festive season with a few repairs to keep us going. Most importantly, the Christmas break gave me a chance to catch up on some serious riding time! Very much needed too. We had a ‘while you wait’ repair to some neck straps, which was like the rug repair equivalent of MacDonalds! It was so fast, I didn’t get any pictures! Tonight’s repair was equally as fast but this time we did get some! Very simple buckle replacement. I think the pictures are enough of an explanation!
A belated happy new year to you all.

We’re busy here clearing a big pile of repairs. We’re also in the process of moving so apologies for the lengthy wait to our current customers. We’re aiming to clear the table before the furniture removals begin, which will be very soon. Some very satisfying fixes. Although time consuming, it’s always good to see them neat and finished. The first part was to ‘re-build’ the end flap. We did this using new fabric and re-cycled binding tape. We’re big believers in using re-cycled fabrics and fittings as it also keeps costs down. The second part was a rip to the side which we fixed in our usual way. And now onto the next one..............
