Appointments are available outside of shop hours for bulk orders or larger jobs such as curtain making. Fittings that require the use of a changing area are by appointment only, they are arranged for outside of shop hours and are charged at £7.50 per person
Fittings that do not require the use of a changing area (e.g. jacket sleeve shortening) are done during shop opening hours and are charged at

£2.50 per garment. Items brought to the house (by prior arrangement please) need to be sealed in bags so that nothing can fall out. The bag must contain your name and contact details as well as a detailed description of the work you want done. Any changes to an order after booking in (assuming the work has not already started) will incur an admin fee of £2.50

Any items left with no contact details will be held for 14 days only. After this time they will be donated to a charity shop.

I bought some bags online because I really liked the print(s) but the quality was awful.
I've stripped this one down and reused the fabric to make a top quality, heavy duty tote bag.
I replaced the flimsy, loosely attached handles with decent weight webbing strap which I've stitched on with a reinforcing crossed square. I've added a burgundy, cotton drill, double compartment lining and a loop and button fastening.
It's available from the shop for £14.50 or can be posted (UK only) for an extra £3.95

Gosh, I must really like sewing! 😊😁.
After a full day's alteration work I've just spent all evening making myself a new shoulder bag.
I came across an old embroidered patch made around 30 years ago by Yatz from Aberaeron. She was, without doubt, the most skilled freehand (machine) embroiderer I ever met so this was an absolute labour of love.
The bag is made from heavy weight chenille, with a cotton drill lining. Two main compartments, three inside pockets and an adjustable strap long enough to wear it crossbody. One more zip panel to insert tomorrow and it's done.

I think it's my new favourite thing. 🖤

This pair of 'favourite trousers' were brought in with a rip at the bottom of one of the legs. The lady asked for a brightly coloured patch to be added and the same thing repeated on the other leg to make them symmetrical.
I also added a coordinating strip to the bottom of each of the brightly coloured patch pockets just to match it in a little bit more.
