It's getting near the end of and I realised I've not shown you any of the things I've fixed recently, this is primarily because I always forget to take pictures 😂🤦♀️
Mend it May is a wonderful concept to encourage us to think about what we have in our wardrobe and give it a new lease of life either by fixing ,altering or upcycling what we have. There are already enough clothes on the planet for the next 6 generations, with the fashion industry being responsible for between 8% to 10% off global carbon emissions.
I love fixing clothes, recently I've turned trousers into shorts, slimmed down wide trousers, turned up trousers, fixed rips, renewed collars and lots of other lovely little fixes that let clothes live a little bit longer! Extending the life of a garment by just 9 months can reduce its carbon footprint by 20-30% and if it an old textile can't be used or saved I love to turn it into something new♻️
