Today is World Franchise Day, admittedly one that would have passed me by until quite recently, but now I can’t let it pass without celebrating the brilliant women I get to work alongside.

When I franchised CeCe & Me five years ago, my hope was simple: to help other women build flexible, purposeful businesses around their families, with the support of a proven model behind them.

What I hadn’t factored in was the community. The way our franchisees share ideas, swap knowledge and genuinely root for each other. I know from my early day that building a business can be a lonely endeavour, but it doesn’t have to be.

That’s the quiet magic of franchising. You’re never starting from scratch and you’re never on your own. But you’re still able to bring you to it… your strengths, your personality, your own stamp.

If you’ve been dreaming of a business that fits around your life rather than the other way round, today feels like a good day to start the conversation, comment CREW and I’ll share more details

The barefoot shoe world is growing fast and I saw proof at the Geox showroom today.

I came away genuinely excited about what’s coming for next spring/summer... more barefoot styles for little ones and bigger kids too.

Now, we’re not barefoot specialists at CeCe & Me, but we are all about helping you choose the healthiest shoes for growing feet. And barefoot ticks all the boxes: they’re actually foot-shaped (so many shoes aren’t!), and they’re designed to support natural movement, brilliant at any age, but especially for little ones learning and developing so much, so fast.

I love seeing how many more brands are moving into this space. It means more choice on fit and design, and the styles are looking more and more mainstream, which I really hope encourages more families to give them a go.

I’ve popped a few sneak peeks from next year’s range on Stories 👀 Take a look and tell me: would you choose these for your children?

And if you’ve got questions about barefoot shoes or foot development, drop them below or send me a DM. I’m here to make this stuff clearer, so you can keep those little feet happy and healthy, and yours too 😊

Sorting sandals to keep little feet comfortable might suddenly be top of mind, so what better time to share our advice about choosing the right pair for your little one.

We lean quite heavily toward closed toe… for a start they look adorable 😍 but more importantly, they protect growing feet from scrapes and bumps, reduce trips and falls, and generally offer better support through all their summer adventures☀️🌊

And don’t worry about their feet getting too hot, most closed toe sandals are designed with plenty of ventilation to keep feet cool and comfy.

From beach days to playgrounds and special occasions, there’s a style to suit whatever your little ones gets up.

And if your preference is for open toe, we’ve got this covered too, with a carefully chosen range of options, always fitted with the same expert eye and attention to foot health.

It took us a while to decide on this song for our first dance, what song did you choose?

The last in our series about barefoot shoes for children and this one’s all about answering the questions we get asked the most 💬

Do children need to transition to barefoot shoes gradually? Are they warm enough for winter? Does my child still need to be professionally fitted? It’s covered here... and if there’s anything else you’d like to ask, just pop your questions in the comments or a DM and I’ll get back to you with an answer very soon.

If you haven’t caught parts one to three yet, they’re on our grid, don’t miss the first one because understanding what actually makes a shoe barefoot helps everything else make sense.

Or head over to the Foot Health Hub on our website to read the full blog, and while you’re there you can look for your nearest CeCe & Me shoe fitter to get those little feet properly measured and fitted.

Barefoot shoes can make a real difference to your child’s developing feet but fit still matters enormously. No guessing when it comes to growing feet!

Meet the Bobux Alpha range… it might just be our new favourite thing 👣

New Zealand brand Bobux has spent over 30 years obsessing over children’s foot health, designing shoes that work with developing feet rather than against them. Their barefoot philosophy centres on letting little feet move as naturally as possible and the Alpha range is their best expression of that yet.

Whether you’re after everyday shoes, boots, closed-toe sandals or something tough enough for school, the Alpha collection has it covered. Built on zero drop, thin, flexible soles with serious grip and a roomy wide toe box.

Particularly brilliant if your child has wider feet.

Think they sound like just the thing your little one needs? Book a fitting with your nearest CeCe & Me fitter to try them on in person because the right fit makes all the difference.

Children’s foot health is still one of the most misunderstood elements of early development… we want to change that.

Today, on Measure Your Feet day (yes, it’s a thing!), we’re launching a short survey to better understand what parents know, how shoe choices are made and what helps (or hinders) confident decision making.

Your input will help us create clearer, more practical guidance for families, refine our service and initiate more conversations with health professionals and early years providers around children’s foot health.

If you’re a parent of a child under the age of 5, we’d really value hearing about your experience.

Please comment FEET to take part and if you can, share this with friends who have young children too 😊

The more voices we hear from, the more valuable the information we gather.
