Summer bottoms, signed off by the panel.

The girls range tester this season is a small panel of equally opinionated small people. We trust their verdicts. They have very few opinions, all of them strong.

Three picks for this week.

- Sweet Wink Cherry Cute Athletic Skort. Soft cotton, real movement, cherries that are not trying too hard.

- Sweet Wink Powder Blue Bow Trellis Athletic Skort. The other one, in a quieter colourway. The panel likes both.

- It's In My Jeans Denim Shorts with Frayed Hem. Unisex, mid-length, frayed at the edge in the way summer denim should be.

Beige happens when you try to please everyone.

The reason most well-meaning kidswear ends up beige is structural, not aesthetic. When a brand stocks for every taste at once, every taste cancels out. What's left is the middle. Cream, sand, oat, the safe pastel. Nothing that could possibly offend, nothing that anyone would frame.

We don't stock everything. We stock the right things.

A small edit, chosen on purpose, makes a stronger wardrobe than a wall of cream sweatshirts. Retro-inspired graphic tees that last three years. Denim that holds shape past a phase. Bamboo underpants the panel and Dylan reach for first. Hindbag organic cotton bags for the parents, made by a partner NGO in Delhi where the women earn fair pay and join an empowerment programme.

A real summer day, dressed for it.

Orangeheat organic cotton tee, It's In My Jeans denim shorts, eco sunglasses and a bucket hat. The kit for the park, the back garden, the long way home. Made to be worn hard and washed often.

Tested by the panel, who wore the tee to a real garden and refused to take it off until bath.

The bamboo edit just got more interesting.

Sweet Bamboo lands on All Things Dylan today, sitting alongside the Bellabu Bear line you already know. Hippy-inspired prints, soft bamboo, sold in 3-packs.

Three prints from the girls' 3-pack.

- Groovy. Retro motifs that look like the seventies and feel like a Sunday morning.

- Peace. The print does the talking. Soft bamboo, breathable, designed to be lived in.

- Oakley. The quiet one in the pack, and the one that will end up on heaviest rotation.

Also launching: two boys' 3-packs. Rock N Roll Blue, Check the Surf, Matchbox Cars in one. Cast A Line, Recycle, Dinoland in the other. (Rock N Roll Blue threads into our late-June music heritage content. Watch this space.)

Hindbag is a French ethical and responsible brand of 100 percent organic cotton bags and accessories, GOTS-certified. Timeless and trendy fashion from slow and solidarity production, designed to be worn and re-worn for a long time.⁠

The bags are made by Hindbag’s partner NGO in Delhi, which works for the emancipation of women from a disadvantaged neighbourhood. The hands that made the bag are paid fairly, work in conditions that respect them, and are part of a programme that gives them somewhere to go from here.⁠

We chose Hindbag because the bag is beautiful and the production model is the kind of thing we want to put our money behind. Both things matter. We are not interested in either one alone.⁠

The bag that finally feels like summer. We stocked Hindbag Oscar because the make stands up to the look. French, organic cotton, GOTS-certified, made in Delhi by a partner NGO where the women earn fair pay and join an empowerment programme. Roomy enough for a whole day out, smart enough to carry on its own. Beautiful, and made beautifully.
