I get a lot of requests for this outfit and I’m so grateful and appreciative to have so much love on my original work BUT it’s actually not for sale atm 💔 as it stands I only have what’s on my Etsy.

There is some good news coming in a minute so bear with me…

If you don’t know, crochet has to be handmade, there are no machines, no shortcuts (sometimes, when you see ‘’crochet’’ on fast fashion websites such as ASOS and Zara it’s not actually crochet but just been made to look that way, which would explain the low cost OR they’re just straight up exploiting workers and not paying fairly).
This set took me at least 25 hours (I didn’t actually track because I obviously had to pick it up and put it back down over the course of weeks) and that’s NOT even including the trial and error time to perfect the pattern, taking the individual measurements and making sure it’ll fit just right, going out to buy the materials, packaging it up all nice, etc etc!

So although I wish I could see you all in these I sadly don’t have the time to make them at the moment, I am busy getting ready for an exciting launch.
But THE GOOD NEWS is I should be working with a rental platform soon, so I can recycle the same sets AND it will be more affordable for everyone to rent for the special occasion that these are perfect for. Which brings me onto price…

How much do you get paid for 3 working days? Would you accept less?
I will often get a request (not just talking about this set here) and then when I state cost, I get ghosted or ‘’oh ok no thanks then’’ making me feel guilty for charging a fair price for my work and I’ve just had enough so wanted to shed some light if you weren’t aware of the labour.

Now I KNOW that it’s not always affordable to buy handmade, which is why I’m explaining the effort it takes just so you’re aware if you weren’t and can sort of know what to expect.

Ps and if you really insist on paying £4 for crochet instead of paying fairly for my time and skill, at least do it in silence and don’t mug me off telling me you’re going elsewhere (btw news flash: just cus it’s on Etsy doesn’t mean it’s an ethical business)✌️

I know that currently it isn’t clear how to order or what there even is to order, I’ve just still been B2B with orders behind the scenes! I’m working on getting some things ready-to-go for my Etsy and then will still be taking some custom requests over message etc. Fellow crocheters - I will be releasing a pattern for my poncho soon too, as I just can’t make that many (they take approx 18 hours!) around my other commitments but would love to be able to see others making them for themselves 💗

For the first 18 months of being able to crochet I actually despised granny squares even though they’re what makes me love crochet, as they’re so pretty and are to me what makes crochet most clearly look like crochet (not knit)!

But they never looked perfectly square, I hated sewing them together and SO many ends 😭
But now I’ve mastered a technique I’m so happy with and I don’t make any other stitches now 😂🙏

This piece came to be by Paris spotting a poncho half way being made and liking it how it was with the unfinished style. A few messages back and forth and we had a vision for a two piece. It took hours and hours of trial and error as most pieces do, but they always come together in the end! Like and save if you agree 💜💙
