Lovely trip to visit Cornwall's newest yarn shop Fisherman’s Rib in Newquay - and she's got a fab selection of John Arbon Textiles Exmoor Sock so I couldn't resist putting together a few colour palettes that would work for the Pic 'n' Vic socks!

Preorder for the Annual Issue 6 is open now & publication is 4th September.

Fisherman's Rib shares building space with several other independent artisan businesses, right off Newquay town centre and moments from the beach. It's been ages since I've been into Newquay proper but it's busy and buzzing!

There's still one week to go in the and I managed to finish a flock of Pride Sheep by Kaden’s Hooked in various naturally coloured yarns I had.

Top tip - find the least fluffy chenille you can and you'll have a much easier time with the bobbles. And a stitchmarker is essential even if you can usually read your stitches - I used one of my spiral cat markers from An Caitín Beag because you can lock it to the stitch with the cat's ears!

I might make jumpers for these in the future but for now I'm admiring those colours!

It isn't half warm in the UK at the moment! If you're inspired to make a summer holiday project, why not try the Beach Rills dress?

Suitable for cotton or other plant-based summer fibres, it uses a rhythmic, repetitive stitch pattern and that "just one more stripe" factor that'll have you finishing the project in no time.

Pattern available on Ravelry and Payhip.
