Hi guys! I just wanted to share something that I experienced lately with a client. Something bad. Not tragic. But unpleasant. Disappointing. And shameful. A month ago, she contacted me to order turbans. She told me about her journey to modesty : she lost someone very important to her and she decided to cover her hair. When she told me that, I had no reason to doubt about her, or her motivation. She ordered 2 turbans and said she would pick them up wherever I would leave them (the plan was that she would pick them up at my mother in law , and it was perfect for me because we planned to visit her for the holidays). In the meantime, we chose the fabrics together (I sent her pictures) and decided what would best fit her dresses. I also decided to make a gift to her: a little scarf with the name of the person she lost on it. Because I was touched by her story. She was so glad (or so she seemed). So here we go, we sent a few messages to each other, her saying she would come to collect them, me waiting, and her finally cancelling. Same scenario a few times... we finally decide I would leave them at my mother in law. And ever since , she never replied to any of my messages. You must say "OK but maybe she has a good reason, maybe something happened to her.."
First of all , I noticed she was looking at my stories (one of them was addressed to her btw). And then, nothing can stop someone from giving just an explanation! It felt like a betrayal , and something so hard to accept. Because she just decided to keep quiet, to give no explanation at all. Her turbans are customised, I spent time, money and energy in them. But she just decided to stay quiet. I invested myself (+the extra gift to her) but she just keeps quiet. So I'm just fed up. Fed up with these people who think they are the centre of the world. She could have lied to me , she could have given me any excuses. Anything would have been better than this silence. So please let's have respect for each other. Don't presume that other people's businesses are a hobby (even if it is). It is time , it is energy, it is investment, it is money , and it is love. Love for what we do and for our clients. Don't spoil it
