I had many thoughts about styling
T-shirts because I get so many requests to do it, but always thought they were not really me.

Thinking about time, and how quickly what’s left of it runs through the hourglass, I figured it was time to practise what I preach and step outside of my comfort zone.

Of course I saved my favourite T-shirt until last 🙃

I have always said I am not really a
T-shirt wearer (save to bed and the gym!)… and honestly, Im still not in the traditional sense.

But one thing I am learning as I get older is that I don’t want my style to be boxed in.

When I thought about styling a T-shirt, I knew it was always going to have to be something or someone iconic!

Sade. Grace.
Women who never chased trends and became timeless.

Always Enjoy Returning to Yourself

Modena was beautiful, but it was also full of schedules, full days, and crammed minds.

Then I caught one brief moment of unexpected respite. Everyone else was out on location.

Earlier Filippo (the designer) had brought these pieces over along with the collection we were shooting. I tried them on - never one to resist tulle! I loved them instantly.

So I stayed in it. It felt like calm amongst the storm. (They were not part of the shoot schedule).

I sat by the window in the quiet and let myself enjoy it with nobody watching and nowhere to be.

You do not need anyone else’s approval.
You only need to honour your own.

The Elegant Stylist…Unstyled!

The biggest silver lining in all of this was the team, who pulled out all the stops not only to help get me to Italy, but to help reunite me with my suitcase.

A special thank you to Alessio, who waited at Florence Airport for 2hrs the following day to collect my case and then drove an hour all the way to Modena to get it to me.

Not to mention Rafaella who had to re-structure the event schedule to accommodate the delays,

And perhaps this whole experience turned into an unexpected reminder that life is happening right now.

Do not wait for the perfect outfit, to be the perfect size, or the perfect moment.

1000 Posts Later!

This week I realised I have reached 1000 posts here on the Gram.

When I started 6 years ago, the message was that the goal was followers.
More followers.
More reach.
More opportunities.
More validation.

And whilst those things can be wonderful, they most definitely are not what has mattered the most.

Some of the posts you’re most proud of will barely make a ripple, (this is the heartbreaker!) Whilst the ones you almost didn’t post can take on a life of their own!

Numbers are useful, but they are nowhere near as valuable as the positive impact you can have on people’s lives.

Most of all, I’ve learned that if your self worth rises and falls with your analytics, social media will eventually break your soul.

For me, the real value is in the women who stop me in the street, who send me messages, and share their stories about how they’ve been inspired by something I’ve created.

The women who remind me that what we do here is bigger than the perceived value to the algorithm. After all, it doesn’t know me like you do.

A huge thank you to all of you that follow and support me here.
I see you. I hear you. And you feel like besties I am yet to meet ❤️

Life Lessons

One evening over dinner in Marrakech, Filippo, the designer behind Sanctamuerte, told me the story behind the name of his brand and how deeply it is tied to the idea of rebirth.

As he spoke, I found myself thinking about this community.
The messages I receive from women here often remind me of a phoenix rising from the ashes.

Women who have rebuilt their lives and are finding themselves once more.
Women who have been forced to begin again.

It is one of the reasons I felt such a strong connection to what Filippo was trying to express through this collection.

I hope this carousel has captured a little of that spirit.
