Shakib has cleared so many things on the recent interviews. It was one of the most entertaining interviews of recent times, but I saw few flaws.
My thoughts on Shakib's interview:.
🟩 He stated he didn't want to take over the captaincy by his own. He wanted to perform without taking any pressure. But situation obliged him to do so.
🟩 He never gave any condition before taking captaincy and the statement and thought of Shakib about Mahmudullah's exclusion from Asia Cup was clear. Shakib is also happy that Mahmudullah came back in the World Cup side by showing his eagerness.
🟩 Some unknown facts about the dressing room. Also he gave resignation letter on 17th Sept.
🟩 He cleared about his olan on his international career. He will play few test matches, 2024 T20 World cup and 2025 Champions Trophy. After than he has a will to retire from three formats.
In the questions where Tamim Iqbal wasn't related that much he was so spontaneous and I enjoyed all his answers.
Now my thoughts on Shakib's comments about Tamim:
🟩 He firmly believed board president shouldn't have disclosed the fact of rift between Shakib and Tamim in front of Media.
🟩 Shakib said that he wasn't aware of the fact of Nafees Iqbal’s resignation. (though media spreaded Nafees was sacked due to Shakib's Command)
🟦 Shakib said, if a player is available for particular matches (be it Tamim or anyone else), he won't approve him in the team.
**** Here the fact is Shakib didn't know Tamim didn't give any statement that he will play particular matches. He just heard that. So here there was a huge misunderstanding.
🟥 Lastly, what I didn't like about the interview of Shakib. At the first portion of interview, he brought an example of a child (বাচ্চা) as the metaphor of Tamim.
In my opinion, a player shouldn't address his teammate like this in an open interview saying "বাচ্চা মানুষের মতো আমার ব্যাট আমি খেলবো"!
Though it was recorded before the clarification video of Tamim, still my opinion is one can't bring this type of childish example!
Anyway, best of luck for Bangladesh team. Literally couldn't guess what will happen, but still hoping for.the best.
