Did you know, today is Shop Independent Day! And what a lovely day for it 🥰 it’s a bit cloudier this morning than it has been, but I’m sure the sun will pop out later. Are you a fan of the summer or have you turned into a permanent puddle? 🥵

Even though my makes tend to be geared towards colder, snuggly seasons, there’s a few bits that are perfect for the summer!

My UKCA tested crochet water balloons are ready for all your water fight needs. You soak them, splash your opponent, then ring out and throw in the washing machine…ready for the next battle! No more little bits of broken balloon polluting the environment, being accidentally eaten by animals or frankly…being a pain to collect up.

There’s also some wonderful offering from Stardust in Stitches friends, including a pug shaped collapsible bowl for your four legged friend on the go. If you’re wanting to get good photos of your adventures together, the woofie is ready and waiting to be attached to your phone with a treat. I can’t guarantee long attention spans, but hopefully it’ll encourage your fuzzy companion to at least look in the right direction. At least for a couple of photos before getting distracted again 🐾

Good morning and welcome October, my favourite month of the year! (Yay birthday month 🥳)

I’ve been thinking long and hard and have decided to take a bit of a break from Stardust in Stitches. I announced a short break after getting married and every time I thought I’d be back to the regular routine there just seemed to be one obstacle or other in the way. I fully support Royal Mail for striking and hope they get better pay conditions for the workers, but the upcoming strikes were probably the final straw.

Don’t worry though, I’m not closing Stardust in Stitches! I’m just taking a break from social media, focusing on some product development and will see you properly in 2023 ❤️ I might check in briefly in the meantime but business as usual won’t be for a little while.

I’m sure you can imagine it was a difficult decision to come to, especially with Christmas being the most exciting and busiest time in the small business calendar. I reckon it’ll be worth the wait and I hope you’ll still be here to welcome me back ❤️

It’s been a bit of a strange time, littered with Royal Mail strikes and a period of national mourning. So I’ve been away from social media but as you can see, still posting out orders 🥰

Spa Series fans, where are you?

A crucial element of Stardust in Stitches is supporting other women owned small businesses. The things I don’t handmake are carefully selected from other (predominantly) women owned small businesses and sadly this one closed a while ago as she wasn’t able to sustain the difficult financial landscape.

Items have been slowly phased out as they’ve been sold and it’s not been possible to replace with new stock. I remember having boxes as tall as me with stock and now it’s all in one section of a cupboard!

I’ll be doing a stock check later today and let you know what’s left!

Girl, where have you been?!

I know I’ve been super quiet this past month, but honestly, it’s been so nice to live in a little bubble for the first month of married life. There’s a lot of pressure to be constantly seen, especially in the digital landscape, so I opted out for a little bit.

This reel contains a few of highlights, but hopefully you can get a sense of the joy and fun behind the scenes 🥰 I honestly didn’t expect to feel any different after getting married, thinking it was effectively just a formality, but somehow it does. I’ve loved married life, highly recommend!

Getting treated while in Corfu by his family and then a stay at from mine, to coincide with our sixth anniversary, as well as to mark our nuptials was the most incredible, luxurious experience. We’ve been utterly spoilt by family and surrounded by love, which we both feel so lucky for ❤️

There have also been four trips so far to presents , with at least two more to go 💃🏻🍉❤️

Orders placed in this time have gone out as usual, and any disruption from Royal Mail action should have passed by now 🤞🏽 social messages had been paused, but I’ll get back to those soon 😘❤️

Ooh I’ve been a bit MIA. Very naughty of me!

I may not have been online much but it’s been all systems go at Stardust in Stitches HQ! In my personal life, since we last spoke, I’ve been all over the country to celebrate birthdays, weddings and just visiting loved ones. There’ve been theatre trips and seeing friends, including meeting my partner’s goddaughter for the first time- the most adorable little squish I’ve ever met!

There’s also been a bunch of selfish sewing…I’ve got so much Disney, Marvel and character fabric that can’t be sold due to copyright, so I’ve been enjoying creating prototypes of products that you’ll see later this year 🥳 there’s also some sneak peeks of offerings that’ll appear later this summer ☀️

Finally, I’ve still been posting all your orders out within 2 business days (usually 1) and last week alone: 56 bath hearts, 10 soap sponges and 10 body scrubs went out, which has generated another £38 for !

Quiet on social media but certainly not in real life 🥰

Six weeks ago, I tried to have a mini photo shoot with my cats modelling two of the cat collars available on the website.

The ginger one was not very impressed with my antics. He’s seriously a collar escape artist. I’d actually given up on making him wear one after he lost 3 in 5 days! But amazingly, six weeks have passed and they’re both wearing these! Plus they haven’t been scratching to get them off so they must be super comfortable!
