Beautiful clothes. Messy kids. Zero stress.
With just a few items in your laundry room, you can take care of most common stains without added hassle.
How to Treat Stains:
1. Run your stain under cold water only (not hot), to remove any excess dirt, food etc before applying treatments.
2. Apply your treatment and let sit. Then add to your usual wash cycle.
3. Do not dry it until stain has been fully removed. Air dry and repeat treatment if needed to ensure stains are gone.
Items to Have on Hand:
1. White Vinegar: Keep a spray bottle of 1 part white vinegar and 1 part water, or buy one off the shelf. We recommend the White Vinegar spray at (Not an ad, just big fans!). This is a go-to cleaner for so many stains, including berries, juice, ketchup, and wine.
2. Bicarbonate of Soda (Baking Soda): You already have it in your cupboard. Mixed with water and formed into a paste, it is a powerful stain remover.
3. Oxygen Bleach: Instead of chlorine bleach, opt for oxygen bleach (like Vanish) which is colour-safe and gentler on most fabrics. Mix with water and soak stains for 20min or up to 6 hours for stubborn stains before washing as usual.
4. Dish Soap: Mild dish soap is essential to kitchen and laundry rooms, especially for oil-based stains. A great solution if you’re on holiday or don’t have access to your usual arsenal of options.
5. Hand sanitiser/rubbing alcohol: Great in a pinch for pen ink, paint and make up.
TIP: Keep a couple of buckets on hand for easy, quick soaking.
You can remove almost 100% stains at home. With these products on hand, you can treat quickly and effectively without dry-cleaning or tossing clothes.
