The truth - a video recorded on the 29th November 2017
-
A lot of people look at business from the outside and think it’s all sunshine and rainbows, but don’t realise the sheer amounts of stress, hard work & sacrifices that go into building a business from scratch
-
I launched this company at 18, with no prior experience and £2,000 I’d saved up over A-Levels and upon closing AFA in 2019 to move into a second business that was solely based around my entire passion and love for fashion manufacturing, I left something behind
-
Not the sales, or the money, or the stock but the community I’d built. The term success is subjective- for most it’s linked to money, or fame or recognition but for AFA it was community. It was the people supporting the brand, giving their honest & raw feedback, input into future collections and coming along to photoshoots
-
The community is the reason we come back in 2020. The community is the reason why we will not be investing money into getting someone with 1m followers into the product just for the sake of it. The community is the reason we did what we did & why we’ll continue to do what we do
-
We will be investing all TIME & MONEY into building great product. Product that won’t come with the b*llsh*t that clouds this saturated market. Simple, clean, premium and staple products- no waffle or cutting corners
-
We will work with the community we initially built and begin to spend time expanding that. Working closely with individuals, other businesses & local charities to bring about a strong business that serves two very simple purposes;
-
Creating great product and growing a strong community of likeminded individuals that expands far beyond a business.
-
Disclaimer- I want to reiterate the fact that my comment about £6,000 “not being a lot of money” is in relation to the average investment into companies. I was running this company whilst working full-time and invested 50% of my wage every month into the business for 18 months...
