Pigs are playful and friendly, and, like dogs, wag their tail when they are happy - the only difference is that they are smarter, considered one of the 5 most intelligent species in the world.

Pigs suffer in the hands of corporations: females are artificially inseminated, spending their entire pregnancy (16 weeks) in a small metal cage that measures roughly the same length as the pig; this causes extreme stress as they can not even turn around.

The piglets are separated from their mother after 4 weeks, after which she will be inseminated again. After years of depression, sadness, and pregnancy, the mother is sent to slaughter, killed by slitting her throat or by gassing in a CO2 chamber.

The piglets have their teeth clipped and tails docked - without the use of any anesthetic - to reduce incidents of cannibalism. The cycle, then, starts again.

Luckily, these pigs were rescued and will not be joining their 1.5 billion fellow pigs who are killed annually by the greedy industry.

Can the taste of your sausage or bacon sandwich justify the exploitation, abuse, and death of someone who never wants to die?

You can decide what to buy, they don't have a choice.

Let's talk about organic raw materials?

To make farms more productive, the business as usual approach is to pump fertilisers into the ground, pesticides into the air, and in some cases, artificially heat and light plants to increase yield. Economically it makes sense because neither the cost of throwing stuff away when it is worn out, nor the climate cost of energy is costed in. But it's insane. Because the amount of energy, water and transport used, and the pollution that is created, is expensive for our environment and the people within it. This is not acceptable to us, because we do not want our products to cost the Earth.

Organic agriculture is a fundamentally different approach. It means letting plants grow naturally - using techniques the way nature intended them. Instead of pesticides, co-planting crops distract bugs. Instead of fertiliser, well, you have options. Like cow poo. And clean soil means that farmers can grow onions and food in the dry season instead of needing to irrigate water. So instead of creating carbon, these crops absorb it. Soft, kind to skin and a positive solution for our climate.

Combine the fact that 15% of clothing is wasted at the cut-off stage of production with the knowledge that clothing production has doubled since 2000, with fashion companies releasing more and more collections every year, and it's easy to see why there are mountains of waste piling up. The solution can't simply be to slow down fashion as we'd be heading the same way, just slower.

We've made the system circular instead by remaking worn-out material.

That’s not just the air freight emissions from rushing stock into stores for fast fashion seasons, it’s the pesticide and fertilisers that go into conventional farming, or the oil that’s extracted to make polyester and other plastic fibres. These emissions equal more than all international flights and maritime shipping combined. Using natural materials in your products means no fossil fuels, only super soft organic cotton.
