Conversations Between the Sun and I

Digital artwork created by overlays of various sunrise photographs and hand-drawn speech bubbles, developed using Photoshop.

Accompanied by a poem written about being awake when the sun rises, due to the negative impact bad mental health and ADHD has on sleep routine.

Work from my MA final major project- The Sun’s Company, July-September 2022☀️

🛠️LIFE (and this account) UNDER CONSTRUCTION🛠️

Hello to anyone and everyone who sees this! This is the first time I’ve had the courage/energy/headspace to log back in and revive this account.
I finished my masters degree last September and graduated in January (go me🎉🥹), and over those 8 months it feels like so much has happened?? But also like it’s all been a bit stagnant??
I thought I was burnt out from 4 years of intensive university studies combined with undiagnosed specific learning differences and mental health conditions but I think I’m wrong. I think I’m burnt out from the last 10+ years of education (and life lol), masking my struggles and trying to keep up with everything and everyone.
Rest, trying to seek the right help and being kind to myself is all that I can do. Trying not to apply too much pressure when easing myself back into sharing my work and what I’ve managed to create over these last 8 months.
This account probably won’t follow how we were trained and encouraged to showcase our work at university. Not anymore, not for now anyway.

It’s powerful to be vulnerable💗

SUNSHINE MAGAZINE //
IN BLOOM: THAT’S DOPAMINE BABY!

I wrote initially wrote this piece about my project, my studies into the modern day zeitgeist and how I used my findings to influence my work. My writing turned into a slight love letter to myself, and shares my experiences living and learning as a young woman with ADHD. I’m so proud of it.

*I exchanged the use of ‘female’ and ‘male’ for ‘AFAB’ and ‘AMAB’ to try to be more inclusive when talking about ADHD, often information surrounding the condition can exclude those who don’t identify as cis-gendered.
