Admittedly, this is easier said than done but quite life-changing. Observing is an important part of Magda Gerber’s educaring approach. It encourages parents and children to trust each other, learn to problem solve and embrace the ability for self-discovery. 🤎

This strongly correlates to Montessori’s ‘Follow the child’ philosophy, inspiring parents to fully be present and allow the child to naturally communicate their interests and show their skills. This truly helped me a lot in understanding my child’s needs and how I can help facilitate her learning versus projecting my own expectations of what she should be doing and learning.

And the best part, it alleviates any pressure and allows me to just enjoy our time together. 🙏🥰

Flora is one of our bestsellers and kids love it when they get to remember and spot these flowers in gardens and parks around. One of the sweetest things my daughter does is pick up daisies and give it to me. Never fails to give me that warm fuzzy feeling. 🥰🤎

I couldn’t agree more! The truth is, if we want children to take responsibility for their own behaviour, we must first give them responsibility. 🤎

One of the key principles also in Montessori is ‘Follow the Child’, It means allowing your child to experience and engage in activities that interest them. But more importantly, it means resisting the urge to lead the child. This encourages the child to explore their natural desire to learn. It enables them to build their confidence, allows you to listen on what they want and let them discover more who they are.😎

Sharing some moments when we ask our little one to decide:
-What to wear/ What shoes to wear
-When we can kiss or hug her
-How much and what they eat (Do you still want to eat more or are you full?)
-What toys to play with
-Who to play with
-How to manage her feelings (Do you want some hugs or do you want to be alone?)
-What books to read
And a whole lot more! How about you? What are other moments when you let your child decide?

Who here got into plants over the past year during lockdown? 🙋‍♀🌿

It’s so therapeutic to see plants around the house and kids love it too! Practical life is a big part of the Montessori philosophy that covers skills practical to everyday life. Watering plants and gardening are some of the activities that most kids enjoy. It helps the child gain control in the coordination of movement and build independence.

We get ours from , they have everything and super helpful with all your questions in taking care of your plant babies. 🌿☘️

Personalised art prints will always have a special place in my heart. Every order tells a birth story that I know a mum will forever cherish. 🤎

I can still remember mine when our little one came out a day earlier than my planned CS. In what was supposed to be a quick check up turned out to be the day I got to meet her. 😅

I was groggy with all the meds but felt overwhelming happiness when I saw my baby for the first time with my hubby. 🥺We were a family 🥰
