Meet some of the faces behind Back to School at SpeedStitch 💙

While the shop and workshop may look a little like organised chaos at this time of year, this lovely lot are busy serving customers, picking orders, checking sizes, packing parcels and generally helping to keep everything moving.

Some are with us all year round, while others have joined our summer team to help us through the Back to School rush - and we genuinely couldn’t do it without any of them (even the camera shy ones 😉🩵).

So, if you spot one of these faces in the shop or behind the scenes, please give them a smile.

If you’re planning a trip to our Walthamstow School Shop over the next couple of weeks, just a quick heads-up before you set off…

The shop gets very busy in late August, and queues can build quickly at peak times.
Our team will be working flat out to help everyone as efficiently as possible, but please do allow a little extra time.

A couple of important reminders:
• There is no customer parking in the yard - it needs to remain clear for safety and deliveries.
• If you already know exactly what you need, ordering online is usually the quickest option.
• Online and in-store orders come from the same stock, so there’s no secret stash hiding behind the counter unfortunately 😅
• If you’re collecting an online order, please wait until you’ve received your Ready to Collect notification before travelling.

Thank you for your patience with the team during the annual August madness - we really do appreciate it. 💙

⏰ EXTENDED OPENING TIMES START TODAY

Back to School season is well and truly here, so we’re extending our Walthamstow School Shop opening hours to give you more time to shop or collect your order.

📆 17th to 27th August…
Monday–Thursday: 9am–7pm
Friday & Saturday: 9am–5pm

Sunday 30th August: 10am–4pm
Bank Holiday Monday 31st August: 10am–4pm

If you’re visiting us in person, please shop as early as you can. The closer we get to September, the busier the shop becomes and queues at peak times are very likely.

And if you’re travelling to collect a Walthamstow order, please check that your order is ready before making the journey and remember there is 🚫NO PARKING in the yard.

We’ve added the extra hours to make the Back to School rush that little bit easier - but early is definitely better! 😅

Back to School is suddenly starting to feel rather close…👀
If uniform is still on the summer holiday to-do list, now really is the time to get it sorted.
Our guaranteed Back to School deadline has passed, but the team are still working flat out to fulfil as many orders as possible before the start of term.
The earlier you order, the more time we have to get everything ready - particularly if a size or item needs a little longer (our suppliers are in mega demand too!).
And a useful reminder: our online and in-store orders use the same stock, so if you know what you need, ordering online is usually the easiest option.

✨SpeedStitch will be at Helena Romanes School for the upcoming High Wood School uniform information evenings and try-on sessions✨

We’ll be there on the following dates:

ℹ️ Information Evenings - parents only
Tuesday 23rd & Thursday 25th June (info available from school)
Come and see the uniform, ask questions, and find out more about ordering.
Please note: there will be NO TRY-ONS at these events.

Monday 13th July, 4–6pm
Parents and pupils are welcome to come along, try on uniform sizes and ask any questions.

We know new uniform can bring lots of questions, especially around sizing, ordering and delivery, so we’ll be there to help make things as straightforward as possible.

A brilliant day in London last Friday at the BITA Construction Networking Lunch ☀️
We brought along a small selection of our workwear, but the real value was in the conversations - connecting with businesses who understand the importance of quality and consistency.
Left with some great new connections (which is what it’s all about).
Big thanks to BITA - Business International Trading Alliance and The Royal Horseguards Hotel and One Whitehall Place for a fantastic event, and for joining us despite the tube strikes 🚲😉✨

Great shot from last year’s Mini London Marathon. Will any of our schools be taking part this year? 🏃🏽‍♂️✨

Watch the 2026 TCS Mini London Marathon live on BBC Sport and BBC iPlayer ! 📺

From 08:15 to 10:45 on Saturday 25 April, presenters Rick Edwards and Swarzy Shire, together with commentators Richard Newman and three time Olympian (and two time Mini London Marathon champion) Steph Twell, will guide viewers through all the Championships action. 👏🏼

Once the broadcast ends, you can stay tuned to see thousands of children cross the iconic TCS London Marathon Finish Line throughout the day via a live stream that will be hosted on the London Marathon Events YouTube channel and TCS London Marathon page.
