Every piece we make passes through hands like these. No factory machines, not shortcuts. Weeks of hand embroidery, one bead at a time.

It’s slower this way. But it’s why your outfit holds its shape, lasts beyond the one day, and looks like nothing you’d find on a rail.

This is the part you don’t see in the final photos. It’s also the part that makes all the difference.

Every skirt in this post has volume. None of them have cancan.

There’s a belief that a full skirt needs stiff netting underneath to hold its shape. Sometimes it does — and when a piece genuinely needs it, we use it. But often it doesn’t, and reaching for it every time is how outfits end up heavy, hot and hard to move in.

The shape in these came from somewhere else. More fabric than strictly necessary. Cut properly, not cut corners. Structure built into the lining, so the skirt holds itself.

A silk skirt, a georgette, and a drape skirt for a saree — three completely different fabrics, three different builds, all with real drama and none of the weight.

Knowing when you need cancan, and when you don’t, is the job.

Bold isn’t the same as busy…

This lehenga is bold, but not because it’s drowning in embroidery. It’s the combination: a lot of beautiful fabric, embroidery placed with real intention, a strong colour in black, and a silhouette we were deliberate about. That’s what makes it stand out.

The blouse says it all. A simple sweetheart neckline with just enough detail. It doesn’t need more to catch the eye.

It’s the steer I give clients a lot of the time: doing more isn’t always how you stand out. Worn here by a wedding guest, but finished to a standard a bride could wear to her own pre-wedding celebrations, and we can always customise it to make it yours.

I made this rope corset for a bride’s welcome party last year, and I honestly haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

Rope isn’t where the mind goes for a wedding day. But I kept wondering — what if it could be? So I let my imagination run and sketched a red bridal look with rope as the whole statement: a sculptural gold bodice, with a silk botanical floral skirt.

A design of mine, on paper for now. But it’s where I think we’re headed.

Rope is becoming our signature. This feels like where it starts.

This was also our first bridal Sharara. We’d always worked with Lehengas. But when a client gives you the freedom to push into new territory, that’s where the magic happens.

Teal and silver. No gold. All hand embroidered, every bead, every sequin, every stone placed by hand. A silhouette she wouldn’t find anywhere else.

The entire process was done virtually. Every consultation, every update, every decision made across time zones between London and New Jersey.

And the result? Something that was completely, entirely hers.

Running a bespoke brand alongside a demanding full time job, for four years, caught up with me. Social media became the thing that gave first. Not the work, never the work, but the showing up here. I needed to step back before I could do it properly again.

That pause gave me clarity, on how I want to show up now in a way that feels genuine rather than performative, and on where Maahii London goes next.

So here I am. Back, clearer, and returning to the part I never stopped loving, the pieces themselves.
