It was really nice to meet streetwear designer at the Lewis Leathers London shop. Recommended to us by Caleb from directional Echo Park store , Bobby is not only the co-founder of but also has the role of Creative Director of Merchandise at Disney.

Bobby’s selection of the 402 Lightning jacket, which Lewis Leathers first produced in 1977 and has been worn by street racers and rock legends, was an inspired choice and suited his personal style. Thank you for your visit

The official magazine of the 59 Club, The Link was first published in 1965, a year after the club had relocated from its original home in Hackney Wick to Paddington. From the start, the organisation had a strong connection with Lewis Leathers that sometimes set-up a stall at the club and was a regular advertiser in The Link. No longer in printed form, The Link e-magazine comes free to members of and in the latest issue has featured a wonderful tribute to our late proprietor, Mr Derek Harris, who passed away last June. Lewis Leathers continues to support the 59 Club and is proud to be associated with the club magazine.

The Corsair No. 60 as we know it today first appeared in the D. Lewis Catalogue No. 15 (1961). It was shown in most of the catalogues that followed, and has never gone out of production. Shown here is an example from c.1966, that has been decorated in a late 1960s / early 1970s 'greaser' style (greasers being a countercultural iteration of the British rockers) and a current example of the jacket that matches the original to an impressive degree. Please note that the 1966 catalogue shows the jacket with a yoke, which suggests issues with the availability of suitable hides and not a change in design.

Appearing in the forthcoming , and , this homage to the Lightning No. 391 is a reminder of role as a bridge between the golden era of British motorcycling and modern times. The Bronx No. 384 (1956 - Present)
It look the D. Lewis shop at 124, Gt Portland St. 3 years to respond to the cult movie The Wild One (1953) but when it did, it introduced a classic with the Bronx No. 384. Although it is described in the catalogue as having an 'American style in cut and trimmings', D. Lewis had already introduced the D-pocket in the early 1930s to flying jackets of the type worn by the test pilot for the Spitfire, Alex Henshaw. Nonetheless, British youth wanted a touch of Brando's swagger and they got it with the Bronx. 10 years after its release, this very functional jacket would become a staple for the rocker and greaser scenes, so well documented by John Keeble in his evocative photographs.

An exclusive collaboration between Britain’s oldest and most venerated leather jacket maker (since 1889) and Japan’s leader in functional and directional carrying gear (since 1962), this limited-edition project is already a collector’s item. Constructed around the attributes of the No. 445 Super Monza (that replaced the original Monza in 1978), the diamond pattern shoulder padding, rugged Clix main zipper, Lightning No. 5 ball and chain pull fasteners (on the pockets) and trademark Lewis Leathers quilted lining, presented here in the Porter Yoshida Co.’s orange, make each piece unique to this collaboration. To pay further homage to the 445 Super Monza Jacket and Lewis Leathers of the 1970s, the hip-bags and wallets have been produced in the three shades taken from an important era in the company’s history known as ‘The Colourful World of Lewis Leathers’ and are available in horse and cow hide – depending on individual item. Pay a visit to our London shop to fully appreciate the quality.

Yoshisa & Co., Ltd has been manufacturing bags since its establishment in 1935. They take a lot of care in every step of the manufacturing process including in the selection of material, the sewing pattern, and even the process of stitching pieces to completion.
The PORTER range began in 1962 and is one Yoshisa & Co., Ltd’s most of popular lines.
