Sandhya Raman is an alumnus of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Sandhya’s passion for arts and crafts has taken her to places across the country. She has been actively involved in training, developing, designing and upgrading the skills of artisans to have better reach into the urban markets. This exposure has also enabled her to appreciate better the creativity and contributions of th

is sector. Her efforts to make income generation as a sustainable programme have evolved, revived and sustained several traditional crafts of India. Her contribution, to organizations such as Urmul, Punwac, Ormas, Avani, etc., has been significant. Having worked with crafts persons and artisans across the country, Sandhya firmly believes that there is tremendous design in the Indian way of life.
