Somewhere in the UK tonight, someone will get home from work, perhaps put the kids to bed, and then open their laptop to work on their side hustle.

Minister for Small Business and Enterprise, Lord Leong CBE spoke about this today, and it struck such a chord. I didn’t have children when I started Cocorose, so there were no bedtimes to fit around. But getting home from work and opening the laptop straight away was most definitely me 💯.

I spent such a lovely afternoon in the Cholmondeley Room and Terrace at the House of Lords House of Lords today for the launch of The Side Hustle Economy: Unlocking the UK's Next Generation of Entrepreneurs, a new report from Small Business Britain Small Business Britain in partnership with eBay UK.

Listening to Lord Leong, eBay and Founder of Small Business Britain Michelle Ovens CBE brought back lots of memories of those early days. Coming home after a full day at work, then getting on with building Cocorose in every spare moment I had and then, after three full years, turning my side hustle into my main hustle 💪.

It was lovely to take a moment today to remember where it all began, with my Moorgate Leopard and Gold trainers taking me around for the afternoon. 🐆

I've recently started tracking my steps and discovered that I average around 10,000 a day. That's a lot of walking, and I put that down in no small part to having footwear I can rely on. I'm constantly testing the comfort and durability of our shoes, both because it's part of my job and because I wear them in real life.
