The Charlie St Kitts brand was created by Charlie de Merle Charvet, a direct descendent of the founder of Charvet the world-renowned shirt maker, who has set out on a mission to make elegant easy to wear clothing for ladies but on this side of the Channel. In an age where green issues are to the fore he wanted to minimise unnecessary transporation, so all of his clothes are made in England from the finest materials to the highest standards with unique prints incorporating flattering designs that make a lady feel beautiful, effortlessly elegant and comfortable at the same time. In creating Charlie St Kitts, Charles has concentrated on excellence of design, quality of fabrics and manufacturing and he at all times keeps his customers as real people firmly in mind. All of the clothes are hand finished in England from the finest fabrics and many are printed with unique hand-drawn designs. Charles’s goal is to make those who wear clothes by Charlie St Kitts look and feel beautiful and confident from within. The Spring/Summer 2013 colour palette draws inspiration from the flowers of the tropics. Perfect for any time of day Charlie St Kitts clothes give the wearer a chic and graceful daytime look but they are equally at home dressed up for the evening. They will add that special touch to any wedding, holiday or cruise as well as parties and home entertaining. In short, the Charlie St Kitts capsule wardrobe is the perfect accompaniment to a busy social life, a trip of a lifetime or an exclusive soirée. To give added confidence to the wearer, the drape of quality fabrics and many of our incorporated design features will work to make her both look and most importantly feel her very best. The collection is designed so that a great many different outfits can be obtained from mixing the garments. That look is complemented by practicality. The clothes are lightweight and pack easily, taking up minimal space in a suitcase. Any creases will fall out with a light steaming. When my design studio is creating a new collection it never ceases to amaze me how wonderful silk fabric is. There are so many features that this totally versatile fabric has and the work SILK itself contains four of the most important ones – let me explain………
Style
Silk stands out immediately and is a watchword for quality and style. It is available in so many forms from sumptuous velvets to whisper-fine georgettes with many forms in between and it enables beautiful garments to be created.
Ingenious
I love the way that this glorious fabric falls. Its drape, sometimes with sheen, at other times matte is soft when wanted. This suppleness contrasts wonderfully with the body of duchess satin when something extravagant and sumptuous is desired. It is lightweight, making it perfect for travelling, and it is astonishing that this wonderful natural fabric comes out of the suitcase relatively crease-free and can be revived to perfection with a little puff of steam.
Luxury
The feel of silk sets it apart from other fabrics. It caresses the skin. Sheer unabashed luxury shows that the wearer is a person of discerning taste. It is breathable and cooling in Summer, whilst the heavier fabrics are warming and cossetting in the cold of winter. It is the perfect partner for luxury accessories and lends itself to any occasion.
