After 70 years at the heart of British menswear, John Simons enters a new chapter with the launch of its own record label.

The first release, Ivy’s Blues, features an original composition by Giacomo Smith & Sula Trio, inspired by the bebop and modern jazz records that have soundtracked the John Simons stores for decades.

As John Simons himself says: “We always played jazz in the shops. It was part of the atmosphere. And it still is.”

Ivy’s Blues is the beginning of an ongoing series celebrating the enduring relationship between style, culture and jazz, viewed through a contemporary lens.

Founded in Godalming, Surrey, in 1907, Alan Paine has been creating classic knitwear for the discerning gentleman for over a century. Crafted from luxuriously soft Merino wool, the long-sleeve polo shirt is an ideal layering piece for the Autumn/Winter months.

The Hindhead Polo Shirt is knitted from the finest 12-gauge Italian Merino wool and is fully fashioned, knitted to shape, with hand-linked stitching for a precise, comfortable fit. It features ribbed cuffs and hem for a neat finish and is treated with a special finish that allows it to be machine washed on a wool cycle at 40°C.
