I wanted the Cat Opera to feel like a vintage textile, one of those slightly surreal old fabrics that you might stumble across in a vintage shop and not be able to leave behind. I love the Orlando the Marmalade Cat books by Kathleen Hale and wanted it to have a similarly domestic but slightly magical feeling. And cats dressed up as anything is always funny to me. 🐱 ✨

I recently visited the Collier Campbell exhibition at the in London and it was probably one of the most inspiring exhibitions I have ever seen in my life. One of my favourite moments in the show was a little display case of hand made birthday cards. At the risk of sounding like Carrie Bradshaw, it got me thinking. I love making cards too: there is a freedom and playfulness to it, a tiny canvas and the opportunity to make a little funny and silly thing to land on a doormat somewhere and let someone know you think they're great. Here are some I've made in recent years for birthdays, engagements and a Mother's Day which was quite clearly during lockdown.
