Batik Kawung🌹
Blue: calmness, loyalty, depth of thought
• White: purity, honesty, sincerity
• Often used to “frame” the main motif, meaning moral boundaries in life
This motif symbolizes balance, harmony, and self-control.
The repeating geometric patterns represent order in life, while the four-point design reminds us to control desire, ego, anger, and greed.
Earthy brown reflects humility and tradition, framed by blue and white for calmness and purity.

A reminder to live wisely and in balance.

Happy New Year 2026 for us all.

National Batik Day – Indonesia

I am but one among many Indonesians
who now walks a path far from home,
in England, for the sake of family and future.

Yet no matter how far my steps may wander,
Indonesia remains the pulse of my being,
the roots of culture, prayer, and love
that never fade from memory.

Ten years ago, I carried with me a small offering:
Shawl of Indonesia by Ina Symonds —
a tribute to batik, woven gently upon silk.

This is my humble devotion to the Motherland,
so that your grace, Batik,
may live on, be cherished,
and loved across the world.
